- ==Autonomy==: Self initiate and self regulate own actions. Important to draw boundaries.
- ==Relatedness==: need to interact, be connected to and attach to other people.
- Focuses on intrinsic motivation
- Tells us that bonuses don't work for professional/ knowledge workers. Reduces intrinsic motivation re autonomy.
- Don't respond to extrinsic motivation if motivators don't resonate with our values. However opposite also true.
