Ed has been the CEO of Salford Students' Union (Salford SU) since 2018, with prior roles in Students' Unions across the Northwest. Salford SU has recently made the eradication of chronic loneliness their key priority and the organisation is starting its journey to create and evaluate effective loneliness interventions, in partnership with the University of Salford as well as the broader third sector. Ed's therefore interested in youth loneliness, loneliness while studying, and the connections to community belonging. Ed completed his MBA in 2023 achieving a distinction.
