## Aim
A renewed USSU strategy that inspires, clarifies, creates cultural change, and ultimately delivers impact for students and our stakeholders.
## Objectives
- A new, refreshed strategy that is fully resourced.
- Clarity to all stakeholders, clarity and understanding including staff and officers who will enact the strategy.
- Maintenance of our current "why" or raison d'etre
- Adds impetus to the idea that USSU is a credible organisation that can be trusted with additional resources.
- Retains our current VRIO capabilities, including ability to remain flexible
- Takes a 'appreciative enquiry' approach to build on our strengths, while still addressing areas of weakness.
## Timelines
- February Board. Confirmation of existing mission and values. Analysis of previous strategy. Ask for funds for democratic review and survey of students.
- Stakeholder consultation and development of Strategic Analysis paper - now until April Board (27th April. Circulation date 15th April). Discuss democratic review? This is the key element that I want to get right.
- Synergising and synthesis of key themes. Options appraisal- April until June. Further consultations with key (senior) stakeholders and discussion at Board Away Day (29th June, paper circulation 17th June)
- July to September - finalisation of Plans

- What are the limits of empowerment?
- Does [[Empowerment]] ultimately lead to better/ more sustainable outcomes? Is there any ambiguity here on when this happens?
- Do we want to specify (possibly through our Vision?) WHICH barriers to learning we will confront and lead on!? YES! x
## Key Performance Indicators
1. 100% of USSU staff can name our Mission, Vision and Values
2. Senior Stakeholders can name our Mission and Vision when asked
