Intervene is one of the four interconnected pathways in the [[Tackling Loneliness Theory of Change]]. It works alongside [[Inform (Tackling Loneliness)|Inform]], [[Influence (Tackling Loneliness)|Influence]], and [[Iterate (Tackling Loneliness)|Iterate]].

## Purpose
This is about taking action, now that the community is informed. We provide direct, tailored support to students experiencing or at high-risk of loneliness.
## How It Works
- [[SU Connectors]] social prescribing programme combines one-to-one guidance with peer-led groups, so that at-risk students can get the support they need
- We continue to provide excellent support to all our student-led groups
- This gives us increased participation, better referral processes, and a measurable reduction in loneliness
## Key Activities
- SU Connectors social prescribing
- One-to-one student support
- Peer-led groups and activities
- Sports clubs and societies
- Referral pathways
- Befriending programmes
## Evaluation
We mainly use **quantitative methods** to evaluate progress:
- Event attendances
- Sport and society memberships
- SU Connector referrals
- Participation rates
- Pre/post loneliness measures for participants
## Interdependence
Intervene relies on and feeds back to the other pathways:
- **Inform → Intervene**: An informed community identifies students who need support and reduces barriers to seeking help
- **Intervene → Influence**: Direct work reveals systemic barriers that need addressing
