Inform is one of the four interconnected pathways in the [[Tackling Loneliness Theory of Change]]. It works alongside [[Intervene (Tackling Loneliness)|Intervene]], [[Influence (Tackling Loneliness)|Influence]], and [[Iterate (Tackling Loneliness)|Iterate]]. ## Lead Bethan ## Purpose We create a network of informed students and colleagues to help people recognise loneliness as a normal, human experience—one that can be addressed collectively rather than privately. ## How It Works Awareness builds empathy, reduces stigma, and gives staff and students the confidence to start a conversation when they notice someone who might be struggling. It also helps those who are struggling to come forward, as they know it is normal and there is less stigma. ## Key Activities - Staff training and development - Student awareness campaigns - Open conversations about loneliness - Stigma reduction initiatives - Building a network of informed champions ## Evaluation We mainly use **quantitative methods** to evaluate progress: - How many students and staff we reach - How effective our training is - Training completion rates - Pre/post knowledge assessments ## Interdependence Inform creates the foundation for the other pathways: - **Inform → Intervene**: An informed community can better identify and refer students who need support - **Inform → Influence**: Awareness creates the mandate for systemic change ## Related - [[Addressing loneliness stigma]] - [[Understanding Loneliness Stigma]] - [[How can you spot loneliness]] - [[Tackling Loneliness at Salford]]
